Blog: Two, maybe three horse race in the KPL

Finish line
As we kick through the homestretch of the 2012 Tusker Premier League, I am convinced that the title will be decided between two teams.

The much anticipated match between twelve time champions Gor Mahia and nine times and defending champions Tusker FC will serve as the title decider, no doubt about that.

After beating Karuturi Sports and Thika United who are always difficult to face, Tusker now have only one hurdle to climb and that is beating K'ogalo which is not easy.

With Tusker remaining with four matches, I don't think there is a more difficult opponent than Gor, as they will be expected to deliver wins in their remaining three games.

No tough matches

On the other hand, Gor also have no really difficult matches on paper, so their fate will hinge on the clash with Tusker.

If form and stakes are to go by, the clash will be one of the most interesting we have witnessed this season and if they both win their games in the coming weeks, it should set us up for a mouthwatering clash.

That does not however mean that it is a two horse race. Not at all.

AFC Leopards are also in the race but their title ambitions are mathematical, since they have to depend on the results Tusker and Gor post.

So, it is a two horse race, maybe three, but I sure can't wait for the Gor-Tusker clash.
