Where everything goes well, but is dampened right at the end... Like the cliche Titanic.. Long love story, but sadness at the end..
That was my day Yesterday.
Absolute sky high and then in a matter of minutes, a complete low.
Kill joy.
Good start
I am talking about Sunday 2 September 2012.
In England, they call it super Sunday because of the football line-up. In Kenya, well it's called just the same thing.
The big match of the day was Liverpool playing my beloved Arsenal.
I will not bore you with a match report, as you all know the result, so I will not mention it again.
What was fantastic, was to win at Anfield and in the manner we did. Fabulous goals, superb defensive display and the team solid throughout, something you can not say of the Arsenal of previous years.
Stuck it up
What happened afterwards though, brought my high (And I mean very high) back down to earth.
Manchester United played next and what happened there for a long time, was again absolute high.
The new enemy (Robin Van Persie) missed a penalty and with ten minutes to go, United were losing to Southampton.
Until Robin Hood showed up.
A hat-trick, including a rare header and a man of the match display from the slob.. Talk of a downer.
Hate level
You see, Robin was Arsenal captain last season, where he scored 37 goals and was the player of the season by a long way. I even had his name at the back of my official (yes) jersey.
When he moved, it was a pain, especially to United, who we have past history with.
I personally wished him death when he put on their jersey and made his long long long speech.
He survived though and has already scored four times for the scum.
My hate levels have super escalated.
Hope he fails
At this point, I still hope he is struck by lightning and dies a horrible death.
But while he is still alive, seeing him score goals for that outfit is painful. It hurts big time.
Seeing him carry them on his own like he did for us is even worse.
To see United fans gloating about having the greatest striker in the world is just sickening.
It is still unbelievable.
Bad Sunday
That was my Sunday guys.
Top top game for the Arsenal, then Van Persie messes it up.
What concerns me is that I have a feeling it will happen a number of times.
Where is the lightning please????
