The minute Mr Ochieng gave us that very important goal... The whole country was on it's knees... They all wanted Tusker FC to go down.
Before we scored, the phone calls that came through prophesising a Tusker loss and an AFC Leopards/ Gor Mahia win were in their hundreds.
On social media especially, you could have thought that the game was over by the way all were talking.
Forgetting that the game is not over until it is over.
Football is round
At times when you are in a title race, you do not count how something looks, works out, but the end result.
That was indeed what happened against Muhoroni Youth.
We had the chances and should have atleast been safe by half-time, but knowing how football works, I was not going to blame anyone if we did not score.
Even if we drew, like it looked for so very long, I would have accepted it because football is a funny old game.. Things happen that you can't even fathom.
That is football for you.
At the end of the day, the three points were ours and we live to fight to retain our title another day.
Next up is Gor Mahia, a game in which I would gladly take a draw.. But that is a story for another day.
We still have the initiative in hr race to the hill and in my opinion, we will carry the day because momentum is squarely on our side.
The easiest games are ours and with the experience of Robert Matano, I am very confident.
We should see it through.
On another note, I would like to congratulate Muhoroni Youth for the game displayed at Kasarani.
They were a solid side and provided a game that made things interesting. They took us on and gave us a game but like I say, football has a way of working out.. In the end Tusker won.
I do not think that they will be relegated, not because the other teams in the relegation race are poor, which is the case, but because they are a good strong outfit.
As for us, it is a case of counting down the days... Marking down the calendar..
One match down, three to go.
