If there was ever a big match...

In Kenyan football, all big matches usually revolve around Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.

If either of them faces any other team, it is not considered a big game.. The others are usually small fish in the pond.

Not this time..

Gor Mahia-Tusker FC: Biggest game of the season.. by a long way.

Have to win

It is simple... Gor Mahia have to win tomorrow.

That is the easy fact, a draw will not be bad enough for Tusker.. If you gave them a point now, they would take it.

Gor Mahia will have the harder task.. They have to chase the game against a Tusker outfit that will sit back and frustrate them. They will need to be at their best tomorrow.

Head coach Zdravko Logarusic will know that If they do not score.. They are in trouble.. Gor have to play well and he will emphasise that to his players.

Tusker can afford not to.

Experience

Tusker coach Robert Matano will tell his players how important it is they stay professional.

No need for trickery and fancy football.. They just have to go through the motions and secure a result.. That is what matters.

You can bet your last coin that he will play some big midfielders and stick very fast wingers out wide.. Expect to see Joshua Oyoo and Patrick Kagogo.

Matano has the experience of being at this stage of the league season and handled it well.

Is it the same for Gor?

There have been pressure moments for Gor Mahia this season, but none will be bigger for Logarusic than this one.

Will he handle the pressure well.. Will he make the right decisions, especially with some players missing? If it is down to the decisions and effect that the coaches have on their teams, who do you think will come out top?

If I were to choose between Logarusic and Matano on this duel.. I would go for Matano.. Why? Experience.

And I think he will come out top tomorrow and at the end of the season..

I like Logarusic and the way he has transformed Gor, but have a feeling that this big stage will be a tough ask for him..

Good coaches

Both are very good coaches.. They are on top of their game at the moment..
