It was twisted..
In the dream, I was in town, drunk a few beers, met my ex, went to some club, then carried her home.. Afterwards.. things happened that I can not remember.
What I do remember though, was me celebrating a title win, and it was not Arsenal ending their trophy drought.
It was me and my friends celebrating a Gor Mahia win and it was not the Top 8 crown... It was the Premier League.
Laughed at me
A few days later, I told my friends about the dream and they all laughed at me and my imagination.
First about my drinking, because I have never had a pint of Alcohol all my life.
Second, that I went home with my ex, as she is now married to some rich guy, with three kids.
Third was that Arsenal had won a trophy... They laughed real hard at this one.
And lastly that Gor Mahia were Premier League champions... They said that my dreams were worse than that of a ten year old wishing he was a rally driver.
Change in results
They had good reason to laugh, as back then, the clueless Anaba Awono was the head coach and we were playing football like we were high on something potent.
But things changed.
Zdravko Logarusic arrived, then we saw a rise in confidence. We saw the seriousness and discipline and focus in Gor Mahia. We saw improvement.
Then the results started changing, we improved and improved and before we knew it, we were back in contention for the league title.
We then won the Top 8 and people started believing.
Beat Leopards
Then, we were in a good place, suddenly, we were chasing the top teams.
one match unbeaten, two, three, four, five... ten... 12.... 13...14.. Boom, boom boom boom.. Top of the table.
Those who could not dare to believe now do so.. They have been proved wrong, very wrong.. They have been put in their place.
Others have now joined the wave.. they are now Gor fans.. reloaded... repackaged.. They now see it.
I did seven months ago.
Title win
Now, we are in with a chance, but as I dreamt, it is not yet over... we will win it.
I had a dream.. picked up some faith along the way.. and now the light is right there at the end of the tunnel.
Who said dreams could become reality? I now believe.
