If you do go to the stadium to watch the team play, then you will know that the playing unit has not been doing too well.
Matches have been won and points collected, but not in convincing fashion.
The loss to KCB was not a surprise to me, we had been playing poorly before then. The team looked tired and disjointed.
And in truth, we were given a real beating by a talented KCB outfit.
Even Congo???
Fast forward to a week later and this time, it was Congo United in the FKF Cup.
As usual , we started well and scored early, but from there, we were second best for much of the game.
Again, we looked very tired and lacking in ideas. The forward line looked blunt and the midfield lost.
Congo could have scored even thrice, if they had the experience of playing in the KPL, but they did not and we won.
I left the stadium scratching my head... What is going on Leopards?
Tough games
To be champions you have to mix it up. There are the times you play well and others where you will scratch the ground hard to get a result.
At the moment, we are at the latter stage. Hard, hard, hard.
The worrying bit is that there are some tough games to come in the league.. Gor, Tusker, Ulinzi and some tricky away fixtures.
Will we win all those and become champions?
I am worried.
Need Jan Koops
Being a supporter like I am, I will always try to see positive in the club, even when we do indeed look shaky and bereft of ideas.
I will look to Jan Koops for inspiration.
When I see him, it reminds me of the unbeaten run, of the celebrations on the touch line and of near misses.
I believe that his experience will see us through, he will guide us to glory and after all those years, we can celebrate the KPL title.
That is where I put my faith.. I believe in you Wepukhulu.... Take us to glory.
Beat Tusker
On Friday, we start with Tusker FC.
I will be out to support the team and hope they can collect victory against that mad man Matano.
For once, I will not mind a bad display.. We just need the points.
Ooh, it is hard being a football fan.
