Blog: FKF: One step forward, ten back..

I know that the new Harambee Stars coaching staff has not yet settled in Kenya.

I further know that the new coach will need a lot of time around here because has no clue about the English Language and the Anglo culture.

However, I have been told that he is really looking forward to trying out this new challenge and has already prepared his blueprint for success.

I also hear that so far, he is impressed with whatever is on show in the country.

And that he wants things to move fast as we prepare for next year's vital challenges.

Not serious

Sadly, despite all the above intimations, it is clear that: Michel is serious, and FKF are not.

By that I mean, if we were serious about him doing well and getting a good start, and giving him time to prepare and do well, we would have had an international match this coming weekend.

I know that Michel is not prepared to be in-charge of a match, but we have had James Nandwa as head coach.

We would have had a chance to see the players impress their new coach. The Kenya development side that we talk about; those players would have hit the ground running.

Any match.. It doesn't have to be versus South Africa.. No.. even Somalia or whatever.. Anything..

Same old

But, they (FKF) are still the same old outfit.

No seriousness, no looking ahead and no thinking outside the box.

When others will be busy preparing, although some will have competitive matches, here, we will be lounging like we are on top of the world.

The Federation heads will be thinking about how they can make more money for their leaking pockets.

And we will have missed a good chance to start early....  to start moving.. A complete shame.

Lots of support

In his acceptance speech, the new coach made something very clear.

That for him and his team to succeed, we will need to support him to the next level.

He would need unconditional help from the federation to achieve greatness.

Sadly, he has landed in a pit hole, where no one cares and though it is still early days, I have cause for concern.

Bad start FKF.

Different planets

We have a coach who can do a job and who is raring to go.

On the other hand, he is backed by a federation whose sights are set on hosting an event they simply can do without.

Misplaced priorities... headless chicken.

They make me sick..
