The focus has now turned to hiring a new coach for the national team Harambee Stars.

Former coach Francis Kimanzi was sacked and rightly so, in my opinion .

First and foremost, the side's results were poor and warranted his sacking.

Secondly, the tactical set-up of the side was wanting.

Lastly, selection was flawed.

Change

All the above meant that we needed change in the coaching staff. If there was only one of the three above mentioned, then there would be no issue whatsoever.

Sadly, it was different, thus the need for change.

FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya has already said that we will get a foriegn coach, which is what I thought in the first place.

As I have heard, there have been plenty of interested parties.

Soon, we will have a new coach.

Wrong appointments

I have my fears though, that we will make the wrong decision with a coach.

We have previously seen the good, bad and the ugly when it comes to selection.

We have had Fabisch and to an extent Lama, who I thought had potential.

On the other hand, there was Chukwu and the Hey man from Germany.

Contrasting appointments in many ways.

Have track record

Which brings me to my point. I do not want to see anyone arrive here with a foriegn passport and claim that he is our new coach.

We need someone with a proven track record.. A master in his art.

Someone who can develop young players, who we need so badly in this country.

We have had so many failed projects because the selection was haphazardly done. We need to see something different this time round.

Patience please FKF.
