Now that the stay that never was is over, we can move on and concentrate on players who are worth the salt at our beloved club.
When I heard that George Blackberry Odhiambo had moved to the Nairobi City Stars, I laughed, knowing his previous history as a half man- half woman.
The guy just can't stomach a challenge can he? He wants things the easy way.
At Gor Mahia, he did well you have to say, but only in an attacking sense. If he was at today's Gor Mahia under Zdravko Logarusic, I do not think he would have survived.. Would he?
Logarusic likes players who know their game, but also wants them to work for the team, play hard and work hard is his philosophy.
I doubt Blackberry would have made the cut.
Back to the City Stars where you know how things work. No high salaries, no prima-donnas, no easy life.
I told someone that the former player of the year would be around because it was the easiest place to go to if you are without a club, as we are so desperate to take on any player because of our situation.
And having watched him once or twice in training, I can say good riddance to the guy.
He was disinterested, had a huge ego and thought he was better than everyone else at the club. He felt he was king of the hill and the sole holder of the throne.
In my view, he would not have added anything to the club and in a way, I prefer that we have players who give their all to the cause other that some who think about themselves.
