Blog: Another season of regret for AFC Leopards

I hate to say it, but it once again looks like it will be a season of regret for AFC Leopards.

This year, we have had more chances than Gervinho has in an ordinary game for Arsenal FC to show what we can do.

We have had the backing of Mumias Sugar, which can't be understated at all.

Again, we have had Jan Koops in-charge, which has brought us unprecedented success.

Finally, we have had a team to envy, a team that is big in stature and has the resources to do well.

Still though, it has not been enough.

Ssemi Aina

For a long time, we celebrated the tag of being leaders of the Tusker Premier League and for the most part, we deserved it.

That was where the good ended and the bad checked in.

The Ssemi Aina case was sad, because he is the one that shot us down, he caused too much confusion and trouble that did not help us in any way.

With him running around and doing nothing good for the club, we spiralled out of control and there was uncertainty on whether we could do a job.

We did not know whether we were in control any-more.

Lost our way

That is where we lost our way, it was his evil that brought us down to our knees.

It was nothing of our doing, but it is still we who have suffered at the end of the day, we are the ones who will take all the regret home at another missed opportunity.

Without Aina, we could have been Premier League champions by now.

That is a story that we will live to remember, the case of the man that single handedly brought AFC Leopards down.

The man that ruined all the good work.

Unfair football

That is football for you folks, a game where opportunities come and go.

We will be the Bayern Munich of last season, where we had the good play and all the chances, but were beaten by the opportunism of Didier Drogba.

Didier Drogba has been Ssemi Aina, a man who will forever be hated by people who do not even care about him.

Sadly in football, who will care? Who will remember? That is our problem, you think that Gor Mahia or Tusker FC will care about what we did wrong or the fact that we shot ourselves in the foot.

No they won't.

Infected by greatness, possessed by Leopards
