Arsene Wenger has finally admitted that the Gunners may soon show him the door, following his failing to land a trophy for six years.
The Frenchman admitted his future is out of his hands, after a string of poor results this season.
After convincing young stars Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign new deals, Wenger admits he was unable to assure them how long he would stay in charge as his current contract expires in June 2014.
- I could not give them that assurance because that decision does not depend on me.
- The assurance I gave them was the club has faith in them and, at the moment, I decide the technical policy of the club.
When asked if he would stay on beyond 2014, Wenger added:
- At the moment, I envisage to do well this season. I want to do well for the idea of football I have for as long as I am here. After that, we will see.
