Top 8 winners Tusker FC beat Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia 5-3 in post match penalties, after the game ended in a one-all draw, to lift the 2013 DStv/Supersport cup.
Llyod Wahome scored for Tusker from a Joshua Oyoo corner, in the 68th minute to cancel out Kevin Oluoch's first half half opener.
Second half action
The second half was an end to end affair with Gor going in search of a second goal while Tusker went forward in search of an equalizer. After failed attempts, Tusker made their first substitution in the 62nd minute bringing in Clifford Alwanga for Fredrick Onyango. Gor made their first substitution a minute later, bringing in James Kariuko for Kevin Omondi.
The change for Tusker paid off as they found the equalizer in the 68th minute through Llyod Wahome from a Joshua Oyoo corner.
In the 80th minute, Sserunkuma had a clear cut chnce to put Gor in the lead gain but he wasted it. Edwin Lavatsa produced a good pass to Sserunkuma and all was required for the Ugandan import was to tap in the ball but he shot across the goal to hand Tusker a lifeline.
Musa Mohammed in the 59th minute after he fouled Joshua Oyoo, while Erick Ochieng was booked in the 64th minute for fouling Brian Osumba.
Both teams failed to find another goal during regular time forcing the match inot penalties after the full time whistle was blown with the score being 1-1.
Ismail Salim, Osborne Monday, Clifford Alwanga, Brian Alwanga and Ali Abondo converted Tusker's penalties. Dan Sserunkuma, David Owino and Donald Mosoti converted Gor's penalties. Solomon Nasio had his penalty saved by Samuel Odhiambo.
Gor had enjoyed 47 % in ball possession, they had three shots on target, eight off target and were awarded two corners. Tusker enjoyed 53% in ball possession, had five shots on target, four shots off target and were awarded eleven corners.
