It is back to work with immediate effect for Gideon Ochieng, the Nairobi City Stars’ coach after he was confirmed in the role having served in a caretaker’s role for the largely troubled 2011 Kenyan Premier League season.
The tactician spoke to futaa.com and declared the confirmation a green light for him to start the work of putting order back to the team after last season’s memories.
-I am happy at the confirmation because I have been given the go-ahead to put the team on the right track. This sets the precedence for me to start the recruitment process, which is among my priorities because I know next season will be hard. We need to strengthen most parts of the team so that we avoid the debacle that was last season, he said.
The former Gor Mahia tactician, who took over the team while in the 2011 relegation quagmire, managed to help it escape the quandary on the last day of that season on Saturday 26 November courtesy of a 4 – 2 triumph over Karuturi Sports.
