Tusker Premier League (TPL) giants Gor Mahia who are also Kenya’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup shed the misfiring form with a resounding 5 – 0 win over Anse Reunion away in Seychelles on Saturday 2 March.
Speaking to cafonline.com, the Croatian tactician opined that his ambition when going into the game was to make up for the poor show in the first leg and despite being convinced of a win, he didn’t imagine it could be that easy.
-We wanted to make up for our bad result from the first leg where we created many chances. The good thing is that we got off to a perfect start and then we went on to score a lot of goals. I expected my team to win but not as easy as we did against a team which has a lot of potential.
- We were slightly overconfident (in the first leg) as we thought he had already won the match before going onto the pitch. On the pitch, my players were a bit heavy as we were still in pre-season. We created a lot of chances but could not score, he said.
