Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed injured star forward Mario Gotze may not feature in the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
Gotze picked up a hamstring injury
in the second leg of Dortmund's 2-0 semi-final loss against Real Madrid on
Tuesday April 30, and Klopp conceded that the attacking midfielder is a major
doubt to take part in the Wembley final on May 25.
Rupture on muscle
-Gotze has suffered a rupture of a muscle fibre. It will be a tight race for him until the final to be frank. That is not good news. It is rather average news, though we've got some experience in coping with average news, said the German during a pre-match press conference ahead of the visit by Bundesliga Champions Bayern on Saturday.
Klopp had earlier on last week admitted that the forward has already agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich and is set to make a switch to the capital at the end of the current season.
Dortmund host Bayern in the Bundesliga on Saturday in a game that will have little meaning with the visitors already having clinched the title.
