On Friday 31 August 2012,
former Kenyan Premier League side Mathare Youth disbanded.
Made a decision
The short and long of a letter dropped to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on that day was that the team was to no longer feature in the second tier league, Division One Zone A.
At the time of the pullout, Mathare Youth were bottom of the 20-team log with 18 points from 26 games played; 19 in the first leg and seven in the second leg.
Three weeks on, FKF has now made a decision and have decided to scrap results for all the seven games the team had played in the second leg.
-All second Leg matches which were played by Mathare Youth FC have been declared null and void, said a communiqué from FKF
In that vein, the teams that beat Mathare Youth after the start of the second leg in July; Bandari (0-1), Kibera Celtic and KSL Thola Glass (both 1-0) and a walkover that Nairobi Stima got (2-0) have all been pulled out.
Mahakama’s draw (1-1) and another against Kariobangi Sharks (0-0) are also out of the log.
Effectively, Bandari now has a 13 point lead over second placed Bidco United reduced to ten points.
Mathare Youth is no longer part of the standings which officially makes Iron Strikers, placed 19th with 24 points from 29 games, the bottom placed team in Division One Zone A.
