Dortmund, Bayern hand rivals three each

Bundesliga Champions Borussia Dortmund got their second win of the season on Saturday 15 September 2012 after seeing off Bayer Leverkussen 3-0 in a game played at the  Signal-Iduna-Park on Saturday 15 September 2012.

Allianz Arena

Matt Julian Hummels goal on 28 minutes, a second by Jakub Błaszczykowski on 39 minutes and a Robert Lewandoski third on 78 minutes were enough for the 80,645 spectators who witnessed the game that was played from 1630hrs.

In another game played at the Allianz Arena, host Bayern
Munich also sent three past visiting Mainz 05.

Two goal cushion

A quick goal by Mario Mandžukić in the second minute sent Bayern 1-0 up.
A second followed 11 minutes later through Bastian Schwensteiger

An Adam Szalai penalty a minute to the hour mark ensured Mainz were not leaving empty handed as the team made the score line 2-1.

Toni Kroos however restored the two goal cushion for Bayern with a third goal deep in injury time.

Seven points

Bayern’ s win made it three out of three, a result that keeps the team lodged top of the 18-team log. Dortmund is third with seven points just behind second placed Hannover on goal difference.

Hannover beat Werder Bremen 3-2 in another game played on Saturday.

Mainz 05 with one point is placed 14th while Bayer Leverkusen is 11th with three points.
