After continental agenda at the weekend, Gor Mahia and Tusker, who are representing Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League respectively, will be busy on the local scene beginning Wednesday 6 March 2013.
On Saturday 2 March, Gor Mahia handed host Anse Reunion a 5-0 beating to qualify for the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup on a 5-0 aggregate while Tusker handed St. Michel a 3-0 defeat to complete a 7-1 aggregate win to also make the first round.
On Wednesday, the two sides kick off their 2013 Premier League campaign when they face off at the Nyayo National Stadium from 1500hrs local time.
Three days later, on Saturday 9 March, the two will be active again with their second set of games in the league. Gor Mahia will be away to Sofapaka as Tusker hosts KCB.
On Wednesday 13 March, the two will be level with the rest of the teams in the league when they play round three of games. Gor Mahia will be away to Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu while Tusker hosts Karuturi Sport.
In the weekend of Saturday 16 March, the two will break away from the local scene and back active in continentals. Tusker will host the Egypt’s Al Ahly while Gor Mahia will be away to another Egyptian side ENPPI.
From the continental games apart and the local action in between, the two sides will have played five games in a span of 15 days.
With Kenya set to play Nigeria in Kalabar in the weekend of Saturday 23 Mar in a 2014 World Cup qualifier, the two sides will have a worthy break after their first round first leg continental ties on the 16th.
The next set of games will be at the close of the month - Tusker will host Bandari on Saturday 30th March as Gor will invite Mathare United.
