Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah has blamed his poor mental and physical form at Juventus on the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana was only able to reach the semi-final, losing the third spot to Mali, as the 24-year-old was part of the Ghana side.
-I had a lot of problems after coming back from that tournament, the 24-year-old was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
-My physical and mental energy was hit.
-However, I’m now returning to my levels and I’m happy.
Asamoah was signed by Juventus from Udinese in the summer on a co-ownership deal and the central midfielder has been used as a left wing-back by Antonio Conte.
-I now play on the flank and I’m happy there, I’m used to it now, I’m content because I am now a more complete player seeing as I can be used in two different positions.
Asamoah won the penalty in last night’s 1-0 win over Milan which Arturo Vidal slotted home.
Juve need just four points to retain the title.
