On Wednesday afternoon, Seven FA presidents from the CECAFA region convened in Kampala to chart ways on how best to improve the football standards in the region.
The meeting seems to have touched the current (Cecafa) office holders in the wrong way.
Several reports from Nairobi have quoted the seating Secretary general Nicholas Musonye saying that the meeting was illegal as per the statutes and that the FA presidents are plotting to unseat him.
When contacted, Fufa spokesman, Ahmed Hussein was fast to note that the meeting was not organized by the federation but the FA presidents themselves but Fufa played hosts and could have been held in any other country of their choice.
He also said that all the resolutions made were recorded in the minutes which were made public. Fufa president Eng. Moses Magogo chaired the meeting while CEO Edgar Watson was the secretary of the session.
Fufa also say that all the twelve FA presidents, Cecafa president and secretary general were invited to the congregation. However, only seven turned up.
Three, including the Cecafa chief Mutassim Gafaar (Ethiopia), Hassan Waberi (Djibouti) and Arab Abdiqani (Somalia) did not attend but sent apologies.
Musonye was invited but didn't attend nor communicate his position according to what was recorded in the minutes. Same as Difue Tasfaye (Eritrea) and Wani Adelmo (South Sudan).
