Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is the latest to speak in support of Spurs forward Harry Kane as the Englishman was involved in the play which resulted in AFC Bournemouth defender Jack Wilshere sustaining a broken foot.
The Spurs secured an emphatic 4-0 win over the Cherries in their Premier League fixture last weekend, which moved Mauricio Pochettino’s side to within four points of league leaders and bitter rivals Chelsea.
Le Professeur believes that the incident, which subsequently ended up giving the 25-year-old his third foot injury in five years on suffering a hairline fracture to his left fibula, was “purely accidental” and would have occurred even under different circumstances.
The Frenchman further lamented that Wilshere, who has made 27 Premier League appearances since joining Eddie Howe’s side in 2016, is “a great football player with a great football mind” but has had his career stalled by many injuries.
