With the Premier League 2016/17 season towards its end, some goalkeepers have already played 33 games and others have played less. This means that the season’s Golden Glove battle could take a twist.
The shot stoppers who are in contention for this year’s Golden Glove are Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois, Manchester United’s David de Gea, Spurs’ Hugo Lloris, Soton’s Fraser Forster, Stoke’s Lee Grant and Everton’s Joel Robles.
Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper Petr Cech and Burnley’s Tom Heaton could still make a late run of things but this would require a little miracle if their teams perform well defense wise in the remaining games.
Thibaut Courtois is leading with 13 clean sheets so far in this campaign followed by Hugo Lloris who has same number of clean sheets, with the two remaining the favorites at the moment. United’s David de Gea is third with 11 clean sheets same as Fraser Forster.
Last season, Petr Cech was awarded the Golden Glove after keeping 16 clean sheets with Arsenal.
