Germany police have arrested a 28-year-old suspected of having planted a bomb that exploded near the bus of football team Borussia Dortmund, in the hope that the club would fail to his financial benefit.
The 28-year-old man, who has a dual German and Russian nationality, is accused of attempting murder, inflicting serious bodily harm and causing an explosion. Dortmund bus that was heading to their stadium for a Champions League match against Monaco on 11th April exploded wounding defender Marc Bartra, and a police officer as the players and coaching staff left a hotel ahead of a Champions League match in Germany.
The German Attorney general explained that the man hoped to gain financially from the attack acquiring 15,000 on Borussia Dortmund shares which he hoped would fall in the event of players being killed or injured.
