Leicester City ace Jamie Vardy has revealed he and his family have received numerous death threats in the aftermath of ex-boss Claudio Ranieri’s sacking.
The 30-year-old is viewed by many Foxes fans as one of the driving factors behind Ranieri’s sacking after a series of humiliating losses landed the defending champions in the relegation zone with the likelihood of reliving Manchester City’s 1938 fate - being relegated the year after winning a championship.
With a heavy heart and a weighted conscience, the Englishman revealed that his wife Rebekah and his children have been the victims of personal abuse, with a number of unidentified individuals even trying to run the mother of his children off the road.
The 2016 Barclays Premier League Player of the Season and his teammates have been accused of intentionally dipping their performance, which dropped them into the dreaded relegation zone and cost Ranieri his job, and the marksman may have to reevaluate his decision to stay with the side which he steered to a Premier League championship last season with 24 league goals.
