Uganda Cranes humbled Eastern select 3-0 in the first regional tour this year played at the Kamuli Park on Sunday.
Onduparaka FC midfielder Livin Kabong made his debut in the second half of the game and though he didn’t score nor create a goal, his skills were not in doubt.
The youngster says he had not expected the call up that early but was ready for such challenges and promises to deliver more in future summons.
-I am proud of my achievements, it’s really not easy to reach this level and break into the National team. It takes a lot of focus and hard work because a lot of players want to reach there and theirs much competition, Kabong said.
Despite spending less than three days in camp, Kabon feels he has gained more experience which can help him grow even at club level.
-It was my first time and I am quite convinced with my performance but hope to do better if I receive another call up. I have learnt a lot and I hope to use the experience to improve. I also hope to transfer what I have learnt during this period to my club.
Kabong has been performing well at club level but rose to fame when he struck twice last month when Onduparaka earned a famous 2-0 win over Kenya premier league giants Gor Mahia
