Following its exit from the CAF Confedetations Cup, Kenyan Premier League side Ulinzi Stars has come out to thanks its fans for the support they showed at the Kenyatta Stadium as the side played Egyptian side Smouha in the first round stage.
The Soldiers had suffered a 4-0 defeat in the first leg and knew they needed turn the tables around but came crashing despite beating the opponent 3-0 on Saturday 18 March 2017 in Machakos bowing out on a 4-3 aggregate.
-The fans really gave us the motivation we needed and though we didn’t achieve the target of progressing, the win was a huge morale booster to the team. From the ones who came to the stadium to those who supported us on social media, we say thank you, Ulinzi Stars chairman Lt. Col Erick Oloo told the club's official portal.
Ulinzi Stars had eliminated Libyan side Al Hilal Benghazi in the Preliminary round on a 5-4 post match penalties.
