Cheruiyot, Ssonko picked for Afcon U20 duty
Africa football governing body, CAF has appointed Ugandan and Kenyan assistant referees Mark Ssonko and Gilbert Cheruiyot among the officials to take charge of the upcoming 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Zambia.
Mark Ssonko is on record as the first Ugandan referee to officiate in a Chan tourney.
Upto Twelve centre referees and fourteen assistant Referees have been summoned for duty ahead ofnte eight team tournament.
The tourney will last a fortnight from 26 February to 12 March 2017 and will be held in the Zambian cities of Lusaka and Ndola.
Eight teams divided into two groups qualified to take part in the tournament. Group A has hosts Zambia, Guinea, Egypt and Mali while pool B comprises Senegal, Sudan, Cameroon and South Africa.
