Sserunkuma, Shaban level as URA rally to hold Onduparaka in four goal thriller

Muhammad Shaban scored to claim joint top scorer position with KCCA's Geoffrey Sserunkuma in the Uganda Premier League goals chart despite his club Onduparaka giving away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 against Uganda Revenue Authority FC in an exciting encounter played at the Green Light Stadium on Tuesday afternoon in Arua.

The youngster scored an early goal when the two sides faced in Lugazi two months ago but the tax collectors came from behind to pound the caterpillars 3-1. The Caterpillars were close to a sweet revenge in front of the ever loyal fans but a mistake from keeper Nissar cost the team.

Star playmaker Gaddafi Gadinho split a pass for Shaban in the 25th minute and the skipper beat defenders with pace and looped over an advancing Nafian Alionzi.

Centre back Akram Akembo raised higher to beat his markers and headed from Gaddafi Gadinho's well taken corner to send the pregnant fans into frenzy. Coach Kefa Kisala introduced Feni Ali minutes later and the wave changed course. Sam Sekitto slotted in a free kick just eight minutes to time. Robert Mukhongotya picked a late draw in the last minute when Nissar failed to handle the scorching shot.

Onduparaka remain on fourth with 27 points, three ahead their Tuesday opponents who are a place below.
