Nairobi County League Champions Balaji EPZ are keen to replicated the 2016 success in Regional League after earning promotion.
The side which was assembled in 2015 intents to play in the FKF Division 2 in 2018 and Kenya Premier League by 2020.
Speaking during the FKF Nairobi County League awarding ceremony where they were awarded a trophy ans Kshs. 50000, their coach Christopher Agug said he was delighted that the team was able become victorious in the toughest league of the lower tiers.
-The award comes as a motivation and a stepping stone to us. We launched the team in 2015 with aim of playing KPL in the next five years time. We know this year we can clinch the Regional title and get promoted to Division 2, he told Futaa.
-The season was tough because the County league is the toughest leagues, most teams in the county want to play the Regional league, he added.
-I thank God for the strength and motivation because we did not have one of the best squad ever but we managed. I impressed with the players ambitions and commitment that saw us win this league, he concluded.
Balaji beat Wajiji in the Zone A playoffs at Camp Toyoyo before taking on South B [Zone B champions] FC in the overall finals.
