Mathare United snaps Ushuru FC midfielder

 Kenyan Premier League side Mathare United has completed the signing of Roy Okal from relegated Ushuru FC, Mathare CEO Jacktone Obure has confirmed.

Okal, a defensive midfielder was one of the bright sparks at Ushuru despite the club going down after three seasons in the top flight. The former Gor Mahia and SoNy Sugar midfielder has now  decided to ditch Ushuru for Mathare United, his capture has been confirmed by Mathare supremo Jacktone Obure.

-Okal is now our player, we have agreed on everything and he has signed a contract. There are a few other targets with are still negotiating with and we hope to seal more deals soon, Obure told

Oduor renews

At the same time Obure confirmed that veteran midfielder Crispin Oduor has signed a one year extension with the club. Oduor who was part of Mathare's title winning team in 2008 rejoined the team in January 2016 on a one year deal and coach Kimanzi has decided to extend the player's stay at the club for a further one year after a fine display in 2016.

-Oduor has renewed his contract, he has signed for a further one year.  He is an experienced player who will definitely be an important player in the team in 2017, Obure added.

Mathare has lost a number of key players  this window and is out to replace them. Robert Mboya, Whyvonne Isuza, Robinson Kamura and Eric Johanna have all left the club.
